Mentees will learn additional information about one another as they must deduce which statements are true and which is false.

Learning additional information about their mentees, mentors will enjoy this icebreaker that looks to develop the mentees critical thinking skills. |

Civil Rights Logic Puzzle |

10:30-10:40am – Activity 1 (25 mins) |
By completing the worksheet, mentees will practice deductive reasoning and gain exposure to key US civil rights leaders birth year and city information.

Mentors will experience logical and deductive reasoning through the eyes of their mentees as well as learning more about civil rights leaders in the United States. |

Computer vs. Phone Debate |

10:40-11:25am – Activity 2 (35 mins) |
Formulating the reasons behind the decision they must make, mentees will exercise their critical thinking skills to debate one another.

Mentors may join in on the debate fun! How would they handle being without a vital electronic linking them to the outside world? Is your reasoning more compelling? |
